Linda Pouliot* has a passion—and that’s making robots!
Linda is the Founder / CEO of a stealth startup created to design and build robots. In 2004, she co-founded Neato Robotics with the idea that robots can perform household chores as intelligently as humans. Neato’s award winning vacuums, powered by their proprietary, low-cost laser distance scanner and autonomous navigation software, sell at big box retailers throughout the world, making Neato the #2 consumer robotic vacuum company globally.
At Neato, Linda was VP of Product Management and Operations, where in addition to product management and operations, she oversaw hiring and manufacturing. Neato proved to be one of the most eye-opening experiences in her career; revealing to her the power of technology and how it can be used to benefit consumers on all levels—and where, especially as a woman, she learned plenty about the vagaries of the tech industry. It was at this time she cultivated, as she calls it, her perfect-fit hiring “superpower.”
The nuts and bolts of Linda’s story go beyond nuts and bolts, however. She has also worked on the internationally award winning Adiri Natural Nurser, and developed products for retail brands including Disney, Banana Republic and QVC. She graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a BFA cum laude.
Robotics are Linda’s passion (along with such pastimes as running Spartan Races and her love of fine food); She champions empowerment for all, whether it’s helping young professionals achieve their own goals through mentorship and advocacy, by creating highly functioning, open and flexible teams and work environments to see projects through to completion, or in developing technologies, and appreciation for technologies, that empower the future! And that empowerment can come in many forms, from the big to the small, whether it’s improving life in the home, at work, or for the benefit of the world.
